Beschreibung

Die neuronenspezifische Enolase (NSE) stellt eine der drei Hauptgruppen von Enolasen dar. Die beiden anderen Enolasen sind nicht-neuronale und muskelspezifische Enolasen. NSE ist in hoher Konzentration in Neuronen sowie in zentralen und peripheren neuroendokrinen Zellen vorhanden. Der Antikörper reagiert mit Zellen neuraler und neuroendokriner Abstammung. Er kann zur Identifizierung von peripheren Nerven, neuralen und neuroendokrinen Tumoren, wie Neuroblastomen, Retinoblastomen, desmoplastischen malignen Melanomen und kleinzelligem Lungenkrebs verwendet werden. Der Nachweis von neuralen und neuroendokrinen Tumoren erfordert zusätzliche Marker wie Chromogranin, Synaptophysin und Keratine in diesem spezifischen Panel.
