Beschreibung

MUM1 ist ein Transkriptionsaktivator, der zusammen mit PU.1 an das Interferon-stimulierte Response-Element (ISRE) des MHC-Klasse-I-Promotors sowie an den Enhancer der leichten Kette des Immunglobulins Lambda bindet. Er wird in den Kernen und im Zytoplasma von Plasmazellen, einer Untergruppe von B-Zellen in der hellen Zone des Keimzentrums, aktivierten T-Zellen und einem breiten Spektrum verwandter hämatolymphoider Neoplasmen, die von diesen Zellen abstammen, exprimiert. Dieser Antikörper wird in Kombination mit Anti-CD30 zum Nachweis von lymphoiden Malignomen sowie von Hodgkin- und Reed-Sternberg-Zellen des klassischen Morbus Hodgkin verwendet.
