Beschreibung

Caldesmon ist ein regulatorisches Protein, das mit Aktin, Myosin, Tropomyosin und Calmodulin interagiert. Es kommt in der glatten Muskulatur und anderen Geweben vor. Caldesmon ist nützlich, um glatte Muskeln zu unterscheiden, und es ist spezifischer als Desmin und muskelspezifisches Aktin. Der Caldesmon-Antikörper ist ein Marker zur Identifizierung von epitheloiden Mesotheliomen und kann zur Unterscheidung von Gebärmutter-Leiomyomen und Endometriumstroma-Tumoren verwendet werden.
