Beschreibung

c-Myc ist ein Transkriptionsfaktor, der für die Progression des Zellzyklus und die Zellproliferation erforderlich ist. Das Burkitt-Lymphom ist fast durchgängig mit chromosomalen Translokationen verbunden, die das c-Myc-Gen betreffen. Darüber hinaus ist das Onkogen c-Myc an der Tumorigenese zahlreicher Krebsarten beteiligt, darunter Brust-, Leber-, Pankreas- und Prostatakrebs.
