Beschreibung

Arginase (ARG) ist ein Mangan-Metalloenzym, das Teil des Harnstoffzyklus ist. Es katalysiert die Umwandlung von L-Arginin in L-Ornithin und Harnstoff. ARG-1 und ARG-2 sind die beiden Isoformen von ARG. ARG-1 ist ein zytosolisches Enzym, das in der Leber exprimiert wird. Der ARG-1-Antikörper ist ein empfindlicher Marker für die Leberdifferenzierung und eignet sich für den Nachweis von Hepatozyten in normalem Gewebe sowie von Granulozyten im peripheren Blut. Für die Identifizierung von hepatozellulären Karzinomen ist ARG-1 ein empfindlicher und spezifischer Marker.
